The design on the dad hat was created as part of a collaboration with Kyiv-based illustrator myfabstory.
This illustration, named “Chestnut City,” is the second piece in the Old Patterns, New Stories collection, inspired by traditional Ukrainian embroidery.
"Chestnut City" captures Kyiv as it is today. At its center runs the Dnipro River — the spine of the city. Around it, a hive-like metropolis grows outward. Mirroring Kyiv’s dynamic city life, this illustration is full of life and motion.

To depict Kyiv's present, illustrator Kateryna Stepanishcheva designed a detailed illustration centered around the city's defining feature: the Dnipro River. The Dnipro splits Kyiv in two, and, in the design, it runs down the center. Around it, the city spreads outward — intricate shapes at the center represent Kyiv's historic architecture, while simpler rectangular forms on the periphery represent modern buildings. Chestnut leaves, one of the city's most recognizable symbols, fill the foreground.
