DARE TO UKRAINE: VILLAGE - EPISODE 1

"Dare to Ukraine: Village" is the second season of our wartime travel series. This time, host Masha Lavrora leaves the cities behind and heads into the heart of rural Ukraine. For one month, Masha trades her Kyiv city life for the village, living on a $500 budget (the average local salary) with no prior experience and plenty of surprises.

OUR STORY

The Kyiv Independent was founded by a group of journalists fired from a newspaper for standing up to censorship attempts.

Refusing to give up, they launched a new, truly independent media outlet. Just three months later, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The team remained in the country, reporting tirelessly on the war.

Their resilience and uncompromising journalism quickly established the Kyiv Independent as a vital global news source for millions.
