$7,900 donated to repair homes in Ukraine's front-line regions

We are proud to announce that with the incredible support of our readers, the Kyiv Independent’s e-store has successfully donated $7,900 for East SOS through our recent initiative.

Our partnership with East SOS began in June and concluded on Aug. 10. East SOS is a foundation dedicated to helping families in front-line regions and internally displaced people across Ukraine. One of their most critical projects focuses on repairing war-damaged houses, giving families the chance to return to their homes and rebuild their lives.

Through sales of our 603,628 km² T-shirt, with 100% of profits directed to this cause, we've secured funding to repair approximately 5 homes. With basic home repairs averaging $1,500 per house, these funds will directly restore safe living spaces for Ukrainian families who have endured the devastating impact of war.

East SOS's work extends beyond simple repairs. By restoring homes in front-line regions, they're helping preserve communities, maintain local infrastructure, and give displaced families hope for the future. Each repaired home helps restore a sense of normalcy, security, and the fundamental human right to shelter.

Thank you to everyone who supported this initiative. Your purchase of our 603,628 km² T-shirt — representing every square kilometer of Ukrainian territory — has directly contributed to keeping families in their homeland and helping communities recover from the destruction of war.
